I ordered The Wine Glass by Vermeer in a large size (40x30) with a floating frame, paying $370. To be honest, I am completely disappointed and don’t understand where all the 5-star reviews come from.
The only positive thing I can say is that the colors are decent and the proportions were kept accurate. However, the quality of the canvas itself is terrible for this price point. It is a cheap synthetic polyester with a very coarse texture that looks like a potato sack up close. Because it's plastic, it catches every bit of light from the chandelier, creating a horrible, cheap glossy glare and making the grainy texture look even worse.
For $370, you are basically paying for a cheap poster printed on a plastic sheet stretched over a couple of wooden sticks and a low-quality frame. Most of the cost clearly goes into shipping a large box, not into the art quality. Returning this massive item is too much of a hassle, so I will keep it, but it definitely does not look or feel like premium art. Save your money and look elsewhere if you want a true matte, high-quality look.
